Blog Entry: I didn't get to spend much time with my father when I was a kid. His missions kept him away from home many times. I could've take it against him, but I didn't. That's because he told me interesting stories about the places he had been to. One of them is central Africa, where he was awed at the geographical contradictions. He was a mountaineer when he was younger, which is why he was delighted when he catch a glimpse of Kilimanjaro. A number of times, I couldn't write my essay because he describe some of the landmarks he had been to. I imagined the lost kingdoms that ruled Africa centuries ago, and I was hoping that I would get a chance to set foot in there. That chance came when my girlfriend and I visited Egypt. I wanted to see the pyramids; it's the first in my want-to-see list. I wasn't disappointed at all. What those historical essays have described are more or less accurate. History stands mighty and resilient in these stones. Then Jessie and I came close to the Sphinx. I wished it would talked to me and told me Egypt's storied past. But legends say that it can happen in a dream. But there are more places to visit. The mysterious ruins in Zimbabwe is next in my list. The only problem is when will I have the time to go there.
